Ain't Much Sunshine But Still Fun
We did not get the full day of sunshine we prayed for on 9 April 2022 for the KFCA Queensland Ecology Day Camp, however, the intermittent rain added a rainforest ambiance to the grounds of the Daisy Hill Koala Centre where the event was held. Thirty-nine KFCA Queensland members joined the Ecology Day Camp where they heard talks about God’s gift of creation
and how to take care of it in their own special ways. They also had a guided tour of the Daisy Hill Koala Centre, pot painting and games as part of the camp activities and got to spend time with friends old and new. With the early part of 2022 disrupted by COVID-19 and floods, it was wonderful to get together to enjoy each other’s company and the beauty of nature that God has given to us. One of the great blessings of the Ecology Day Camp was that it was truly a community event, with CFCA parents, Singles for Christ (SFC) and Youth for Christ (YFC) working together to deliver a fun and Spirit-filled event for the youngest members of our community. It was so heart-warming to see the members of the SFC and YFC service team be like big brothers and sisters to the KFCA attendees. You can really feel the love in the way they cared for the kids through the day. The way the SFCs and YFCs showed patience and leadership is an affirmatio
n that the Holy Spirit is strong with the younger generations and that our CFCA community will be in good hands when they take up the reins in their appointed time. The other great blessing is that with the rainy weather, God showed that life is not always about sunny days, but joy and grace and can still be found even if things do not go as expected.
