Our recent Youth Entry Program (YEP) which was held on April 5 and 6 was a joyful and spirit-filled weekend, bringing together 33 participants from 12 different parishes. We started off the event on Saturday with fun icebreakers like “Bang” and the “Dory Game.” Although there was a bit of confusion at first, everyone eventually caught on and had a great time.
We moved into Talk 1 by Deona: God’s Love and His Plan for us, where participants were invited to write down their craziest dreams - a fun and inspiring activity that sparked creativity and hope.
Talk 2: Who is Jesus Christ to Me by Sean was followed by engaging discussion groups that helped participants reflect on the message and connect with one another.
Talk 3: Repentance, faith, Healing and Forgiveness was delivered by Ate Moirah, where everyone took part in a heartfelt activity—writing lists of people they have hurt and those who have hurt them. This reflective moment allowed for healing and deep introspection. We ended Saturday with a short but meaningful praise and worship session, bringing the day to a close with a sense of unity and peace.
Sunday’s program started with a mass at St Catherine’s Parish, Wishart where their parish priest, Fr Rony has kindly made himself available to hear the participants’ confession.
We continued with Talk 4: Receiving God’s Gift: The Power of the Holy Spirit that I delivered. This then led into powerful and personal pray-over sessions that moved many participants deeply.
Aldrin delivered Talk 5: Growth in the Spirit and Mission of YFCA, offering a strong talk of how to stay consistent with God through prayer and coming to YFCA events and the talk went on to dialogue with parents.
We wrapped up with a graduation ceremony , then finished the weekend with joyful praise and worship and a fellowship session. Everyone enjoyed the food, the talks, and the overall experience—many said it was fun, interesting, and truly meaningful. It was a beautiful weekend full of faith, friendship, and growth. We are all excited to be journeying together in faith, in love and in service for God with our new YFCAs!
