CFCA NSW Marks 38 Years with Renewed Call to Mission

From the anniversary message of Brother Edwin Aguirre, National Council Director

Couples for Christ Australia celebrated its 38th anniversary with gratitude for God’s faithfulness and a renewed commitment to its mission of building Christ-centred families. In his anniversary message, National Council Director Brother Edwin Aguirre honoured the community’s pioneers, leaders and members, recalling its growth from three pioneering couples in 1988 into a vibrant movement sustained by the Holy Spirit.

Reflecting on the 2026 theme, “Consecrated in the Truth, Be Christ to Others,” Brother Edwin urged members to allow God’s truth to transform their families, leadership and service. He emphasised that faith is made visible through love, forgiveness, compassion, servant leadership and the invitation for others to encounter Christ through the Christian Life Program.

As CFCA advances its 5,000 in 5 Strategic Vision and looks toward its 40th anniversary in 2028, members were invited to renew three commitments: remain rooted in God’s truth, be Christ to at least one person, and participate actively in evangelisation. With faith, hope and unity, the community continues its mission of renewing families in the Holy Spirit.

Consecrated in the Truth, Be Christ to Others

Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Happy 38th Anniversary, Couples for Christ Australia!

Today, we gather with grateful hearts to celebrate 38 years of God's unwavering love, commitment and faithfulness. Above all, we give Him glory for everything He has done in and through our community.

From humble beginnings in 1988 with just three pioneering couples, God has blessed and grown this mission beyond what anyone could have imagined.

Today, we honour our pioneers, past and present leaders, and every member of CFCA for responding to God's call to build Christ-centred families empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We also welcome and celebrate those who have recently joined us. You are now part of this continuing story of God's love and faithfulness.

Celebrating God's Faithfulness

As we look back, we see more than numbers and achievements. We see the hand of God guiding, providing, and sustaining us through every season.

This year marks the third year of our 5,000 in 5 Strategic Vision. By God's grace, we continue to witness growth and renewed missionary zeal. Our Christian Life Programs are bearing fruit, and more individuals and families are encountering Christ.

But behind every number is a story of:

  • a marriage renewed.

  • a family strengthened.

  • a life transformed by God's grace.

These are reminders that the Holy Spirit continues to work powerfully among us.

Consecrated in the Truth

The slogan of our theme this year is "Consecrated in the Truth, Be Christ to Others."

To be consecrated means to be set apart for God and dedicated to His purpose. Before God sends us out to serve, He first transforms us from within.

As we surrender ourselves to Him, He shapes us into the image of Christ. And that transformation becomes our most powerful witness.

Today, many people are searching for hope, purpose, and authentic faith. They do not simply need to hear about Jesus. They need to encounter Jesus through us.

Our mission is not only to speak about Christ, but to reflect Him through the way we live, love, serve, and lead.

Our Next "Yes"

Anniversaries are not only about celebrating the past. They are invitations to embrace God's future.

In 2024, God called us to fix our eyes on Jesus and bear fruit.

In 2025, He called us to a new life in Christ.

And in 2026, He calls us to be Consecrated in the Truth and Be Christ to Others.

So, the question for each of us is:

How is God calling me to be Christ to others today?

Perhaps through greater faithfulness in our marriage and family.

Perhaps through servant leadership.  As our community continues to grow, we need more men and women willing to shepherd, mentor, and care for new members.

Perhaps by inviting someone to a Christian Life Program.

Or simply through acts of kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, and compassion.

Today, let us renew three commitments:

  1. Be rooted in God's truth. Allow His Word to shape your thoughts, decisions, and way of life.

  2. Be Christ to at least one person. Let someone encounter Jesus through your witness, your love, and your example.

  3. Be active in the mission of evangelization. Share in the work of evangelization and participate fully in God's plan for this community.

Imagine what God can do if each one of us says "yes" once again.

Closing

Brothers and sisters, the God who has faithfully carried us through the past 38 years will continue to lead us into the future.

In just two years, in 2028, we will celebrate our 40th Anniversary. It will also mark the fifth and final year of our 5,000 in 5 Strategic Vision.

What an extraordinary milestone lies ahead.

The harvest is plentiful.

The mission remains urgent.

The Holy Spirit is moving.

As we journey toward our 40th Anniversary in 2028 and the fulfillment of our 5,000 in 5 Vision, let us move forward with faith, hope, and confidence in God's promises.

May we remain consecrated in the truth, transformed by God's love, and courageously sent forth to be Christ to others.

Let us remain united as we continue fulfilling our mission of renewing families in the Holy Spirit.

Happy 38th Anniversary, Couples for Christ Australia!

To God be all the glory. Amen.

Bro. Edwin Aguirre

National Council Director
