'Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.' Hebrews 13:7
PCS Vic conducted their Pastoral Formation Teaching on Saturday, 21 June 2025, at the Taylors Hill Community Centre. The topic was Leadership and Discipleship, delivered by Bong Sales, the PCS Coordinator for Victoria. The event was well attended by members and leaders of the CFCA Vic community.
Our speaker addressed the invitation to discipleship, its importance and its advantages. He discussed Christian Leadership in detail and noted that successful leaders have a plan and vision. They have the right people, and the commitment and conviction to realize and achieve this vision. Moreover, he explained that successful leaders have the ability to communicate their vision and monitor and evaluate if things are working or not.
He highlighted the importance of taking on leadership roles as this enables individuals to realize their spiritual gifts, lead others in their faith and contribute to the overall well- being of the community thus achieving our mission.
After the talk, we split the attendees into five groups: members, household heads, unit heads, chapter heads, elders and Family Ministry coordinators. We collected their answers to a few intriguing questions regarding leadership, which includes:
What does higher leadership mean to you?
Are you open to serving in higher positions of leadership, whenever called?
What fears or challenges do you feel about taking on a leadership role in CCA? How can the community help overcome them?
It was a beautiful and productive day for all who expressed their honest responses and insights about their challenges with leadership.
