Women’s Office (South Australia) August 2024

The 5th Women’s Office event was held last Aug 3, 2024, at St Augustine’s Family Centre. It was a spirit-filled event attended by the ladies in our community from CFC and HOLD.

The SA Women’s Office activity was hosted by the lovely Nel. We started with Praise & Worship to get inspired by the Holy Spirit. Our faith-filled sister Susan Dangcalan led us in singing powerful songs and heartfelt prayers. We can truly feel the presence of our dear Lord in our midst.

The main item on the agenda is a talk on Inner Peace, which was beautifully delivered by Kharen Malagar. She shared the teachings of Saint Teresa of Avila about the Interior Castle. Saint Teresa wrote this book in 1577 and still relevant for us today. It describes the soul’s journey towards God with themes on prayer, perseverance, humility and divine love. Seven mansions representing different stages of spiritual growth – starting from Awakening, then Practice of Prayer, Exemplary life, Quiet Prayer, towards Union with God, Spiritual Betrothal and ultimately Spiritual Marriage. Inner peace is a sign of spiritual progress, and true detachment from the world and full union with God.

Next up we had Karen Mesa to share her personal experiences. As a side note, two Karens speaking is just a wonderful coincidence! Karen shared her struggles with sickness and family life but despite the challenges, she strongly faced these difficult trials with unwavering trust in God. We can truly feel what Inner Peace looks like with our sister’s touching testimony.

After the talks, the most important aspect of the event is next. Bonding time! The ladies bonded over group discussion, and then a wonderful feast for lunch.

The afternoon brings more fun activities. We had our pretty sisters Eloisa and Maan lead the group playing games and a dance off! The teams got very competitive dancing the signature moves from different decades. To close off, we did more group dancing of course.

We all had an enjoyable time including our brothers who came to support us.

May God be Praised!
