HOLD NSW General Assembly and Pre-Valentine’s Fundraising Activity: A Heart-warming Success

Updated: Feb 29, 2024

by Rubie Herrrera

On February 10,2024, the Handmaids of the Lord-NSW hosted a vibrant fundraising activity at Mary MacKillop Hall, Saint Aidan’s Parish in Rooty Hill from 11am to 4pm. The event aimed to raise funds to subsidize members’ registration fees for the upcoming 3-day National Conference in April and to support other HOLD events throughout the year. This event marked the first of HOLD’s activities for 2024, following the successful Evangelisation Rally held in January. Attendees enjoyed a variety of engaging activities fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among HOLD members, families, and friends.

The event featured a range of activities, including the sale of clothes and pre-packed cooked foods; pre-sold raffle with exciting prizes; and a lively Bingo game with donated items as prizes. To add to the joyful atmosphere, there were also Zumba session and parlour games such as heart hunting, poster making, and Valentine’s Friendly Feud, which served as delightful icebreakers. Those celebrating birthdays in January and February also blew out the candles on the birthday cake.

The event drew a significant turnout, with members from both the Blacktown and Fairtown chapters of HOLD in attendance. The support extended beyond HOLD, with family members and friends, as well as CFCA and Family ministry brothers and sisters, adding to the joyful atmosphere. Overall, the Pre-Valentine’s Fundraising Activity was a resounding success, embodying the spirit of cooperation, sisterhood and love that defines the HOLD community. It only not raised funds for a worthy cause but also provided a platform for us to come together and celebrate.
