“Fix your eyes on Jesus, press on, bear fruit”

The annual National Conference of the Couples for Christ Australia (CFCA) was held on the weekend of 12 – 14 April 2024 at the Liverpool Catholic Club in Prestons, NSW. It was hosted by our brethren in New South Wales (NSW).
Our lovely sisters from the Handmaids of the Lord (HOLD) joined us, only the second time they did in the past 11 years, making this conference the 26th year for CFCA and the 24th for HOLD. 552 Members from Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales gathered for a weekend truly inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The conference was opened by our Bro. Nonie Cabrera, member of the National Council of CFCA (NC-CFCA), director for the Love in Action portfolio and NSW Area Head. An exhortation from Reverend Father Noel Custodio followed. Fr. Noel was a member of our Youth Ministry, and this experience led him to his calling to the priesthood.
He reminded everyone that living in a secular country like Australia has its challenges. What was missing in the life of some people was their lack of being in a community.
CFCA has given each member that sense of belonging, and everyone understood how to live and build a community. He encouraged everyone to continue our spiritual training by exercising our minds through solid Catholic teachings, exercising our hearts by reaching out to those who are suffering and exercising our souls by going regularly to confession and participating in the liturgy.
A procession representing each of the family ministry starting from our youngest members, the Kids for Christ, and then a praise and worship led by Sis. Grace Jacinto, HOLD Area Coordinator for NSW, closed the first day of the conference.
