Spreading Hope: LIA NSW Joins One Meal Program Blacktown to Serve the Community

Armando Andaya LIA NSW State Coordinator

At LIA NSW, we believe in the power of kindness and community. That’s why we are honored to partner with One Meal Program Blacktown in providing nourishment, support, and hope to those who need it most.

Our journey of service began on March 22, when our volunteers joined hands to prepare and distribute meals, along with essential items such as bread, fresh produce, clothing, and other necessities. To make the gathering even more special, LIA NSW also shared home-cooked dishes, bringing warmth and comfort to those we served.

Beyond food, this initiative is about connection. We had the privilege of working alongside incredible volunteer groups dedicated to medical care, wellness, and advocacy against domestic violence. Together, we created an atmosphere of compassion, where everyone felt seen, heard, and valued.

The turnout was overwhelming, and it was truly heartening to witness the smiles of those who left not just with food, but with renewed hope. This initiative continues every Saturday, and we are committed to making a difference—one meal, one gesture of kindness at a time.
