Redeeming the Time: A Sacred Rhythm for Living with Purpose

On Saturday, 1 August, the Taylor’s Hill Community Centre welcomed a gathering of hearts seeking peace, purpose, and deeper connection. Hosted by Pastoral Care and Support (PCS) Victoria, the afternoon was graced by the presence and wisdom of Brother Bobby Mathew, whose powerful message on time management through prayer reminded us all of a timeless truth: when we place God at the center, everything else finds its rightful place.

Bro Bobby shared that in our busy lives, time isn’t the enemy—distraction is. Drawing a distinction between Kronos (the ticking clock of our busy calendars) and Kairos (God’s divine, appointed moments), he challenged us to reconsider how we approach our daily hours. God sanctified time itself right at Creation (Genesis 2:2–3), showing us that time is not meant to be endlessly driven by productivity. He encouraged attendees to begin each day not with a to-do list, but with a moment of stillness and prayer. “When we spend time with God first,” he shared, “we align our hearts with His will, and the rest—our work, our relationships, our responsibilities—flows with greater clarity and peace.” Instead of constantly asking, "How can I fit God into my schedule?" Bro Bobby urged us to ask, "Lord, where are You already at work today, and how can I join You?"

Bro Bobby's message reminded us that we cannot create more time, but we can consecrate the time God has given us by offering Him our first and best hours—not merely the leftovers. His talk was both practical and deeply spiritual, urging us to see prayer not as another item on the schedule, but as the foundation that holds it all together. Many left feeling renewed, reminded that true time management begins with divine connection.
