Kids for Christ Australia (KFCA) Victoria joyfully opened the year with its 2026 Kick Off and Moving Up Ceremony on the 28th of February at the St. James the Apostle Church playground. The event was led by the KFCA VIC Coordinators, with the support of former coordinators from the North and West 1 Chapters, and our Family Ministry Coordinators, Tito Mar and Tita Mel Nazareno. Their presence made the gathering feel like a true family celebration.
The day began with a prayer, followed by an energetic praise‑and‑worship dance led by Senior KFCs from the Southwest Chapter—Marianna, Mary, and Lara. Their enthusiasm set the tone for a morning filled with laughter, movement, and fellowship. A quick race on the track kicked off the games, followed by a series of fun team mini‑games that brought everyone together.
After the activities, the group gathered under the shade for a teaching by Kuya Chad Santos, YFCA Speaker, who shared the message “Move Up and Be Faithful.” He reflected on the story of David and Goliath, reminding the children that David’s courage came from his unwavering trust in God. Despite being young and facing a giant, David believed that God would protect him—and through that faith, he triumphed. The lesson encouraged everyone to trust God in their own challenges and to remember that He is always present, guiding and strengthening us.
To reinforce the message, Kuya Chad led a Q&A and a “moving up or staying small” game at the basketball courts. Through different scenarios, the children learned how good choices help them grow in faith. With each step forward, they were reminded that spiritual growth happens through daily acts of love, kindness, and obedience to God.
The highlight of the day was the Moving Up Ceremony, where Junior KFCs were recognised as they transitioned to Senior KFCs, and Senior KFCs moved up to Junior YFCA. It was a proud moment for the children, their families, and the entire ministry.
The celebration concluded with a blessing of the food and a closing prayer. Families enjoyed a delicious meal together, followed by more playtime and fellowship before heading home.
The 2026 Kick Off and Moving Up Ceremony was a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the joy of growing together as one KFCA family. It set a hopeful and inspiring tone for the year ahead.
