Giving Back to the Community – YFCA Vic Clean and Connect Immersion Project by Mick Nuestro

Our youth recently gathered for a meaningful day of service and fellowship through the Youth Clean and Connect Immersion Project. As part of giving back to the community, the youth showed their appreciation and care for the spaces provided by the Melton City Council, particularly at the Taylors Hill Community Centre, which regularly hosts youth activities.

During the immersion, the youth participated in park clean-ups, walking exercises, and activities that helped them appreciate the beauty of local parks. They also enjoyed art, games, and music, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere while learning the value of caring for nature and preserving community amenities.

The project gave the youth the opportunity to connect with one another, strengthen friendships, and grow as responsible and active members of the community. Through this experience, they developed a deeper understanding of service, environmental care, and community involvement.

This immersion project was made possible through the support of Melbourne Airport and Couples for Christ Australia. With more parks to explore and enjoy, the youth look forward to continuing their journey of service and appreciation for the community spaces around them.

Here's some of the photos of the event:
