CFCA Tasmania Evangelisation Rally 2026 – A moment to gather, uplift, and inspire each other to go forth in our mission

31 Jan 2026 - The charming seaside town of Ulverstone hosted Tasmania’s Evangelisation Rally and led by no other than our CFCA National Director Bro Edwin and Sis Aster Aguirre. CFCA members from across northern Tasmania gathered to spend the day together to reflect on the work that has been achieved over the past 12 months, and to look forward to the objectives of the coming year. The atmosphere was fun and light, with members relishing the chance to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company.

CFCA Tasmania Spiritual Director, Fr Jessie Banez opened the rally with a powerful talk about our roles as missionaries, inviting us to build relationships with our communities and share the joy and love that comes from having a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When we go forth in mission, we must not be afraid but instead face our directive with unwavering faith, wherever this might take us.

Bro Edwin and Sis Aster presented the theme for the year 2026: Consecrated in the Truth, Be Christ to Others, which will serve as the inspiration for our spiritual development and mission work. They spoke about the evolving needs of our community, where we are called to respond and how we should respond to our mission. Bro Edwin presented a remarkable acronym for CFCA that defines what characters men and women of CFCA should have: Courage, Faith, Conviction, and Action. Sister Aster affirmed Fr. Jesse’s message that when we are sent to a place on mission, God is already there ahead of us to prepare everything for us.

Bro Tony and Hideliza Portugal prepared an engaging program, drawing stories and achievements of the small and vibrant Tasmanian member base of CFCA, proving that despite our small numbers, the spirit of evangelisation is alive and well within the parishes and communities we serve. Much can be achieved when we say “Yes” to God’s call to action, and we were reminded of the strength found in Christian love, unity and shared faith.

Tables laden with delicious food quickly became the centre of laughter and lively chats. Members lingered well into the late afternoon, exchanging stories, offering helping hands, and making plans for future gatherings. This inspiring event not only strengthened our faith but also rekindled the warmth of community bonds, leaving everyone with renewed hope and gratitude for the peace that comes with serving Jesus Christ.
