August 2025 (Be rooted and grounded in love so that you may be filled with the fullness of God.)

Bible passages: Ephesians 3:14-21

“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth in named, that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Reflections:

The message of Ephesians 3:14-21 for us is “A prayer for the Strength of God through His Spirit”. By the grace of God through the power of the Holy Spirit, we who have Christ dwelling in our heart through faith can grasp the love of Christ in whatever experience or circumstance we have in our lives. Having the Strength of God then, and only then, can we be filled to the measure of the fullness of God.

The strength which the Spirit provides is the strength to live as one who walks this earth with and in Jesus. If the strength of Christ dwells within us, we learn more and more to live and act as Jesus would.

God shows His love for us that while we were still sinners, He sent His only Son to the world to save and not to condemn. His grace calls us out of darkness into His marvellous light.

Discussion Questions:

Do you pray to God everyday for strength and empowerment?

In what ways do you spend your energy; in pursuit of material things? How about on spiritual things?

Do you pray and discern before you do something? Do you ask yourself; “would Jesus be happy” on what you are about to do?

Let us pray:

Touch me, O Lord, and fill me with your light and your hope. Dear God, please give me strength when I am weak, love when I feel forsaken, courage when I am afraid, wisdom when I feel foolish, comfort when I am alone, hope when I feel rejected, and peace when I am in turmoil.

Lord, speak in the silence of my heart. Teach me to always listen to you and act on the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Guide me in my decisions and may whatever I do be pleasing and acceptable to you.

Amen!
