All systems go for the 2025 CFCA National Conference

Fifteen days to go, and everyone here in Western Australia is raring to welcome over 270 brother and sister delegates from New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania, to mark the 27th CFCA National Conference - from the 25th to the 27th of April at the Sicilian Club, 1 Fortune St, Balcatta WA.

It has been 15 years since the last conference was held in WA, and it is just fitting to celebrate this momentous occasion. Of course, Covid-19 pre-empted this five years ago, nothing is stopping us now!

The Rego committee has been overwhelmed with the response to the registrations. The Hosting and Transport teams are working overtime to ensure all requests are addressed. The Media group is back with our presentation slides preparations. The Technical crew is finalising everything that is needed and has also done the sound checks last week at the venue. The Finance bunch is very active too, ensuring that we stay within the budget. The Catering party is working hard to make sure everyone will be fed well. The venue and décor teams are readying to do their artistic magic. The Mass choir and the Music Ministry are creating beautiful music together. The singers are delicately taking care of their voices, to guarantee that they still have them on our conference weekend. The Liturgical team is reviewing their checklist for the mass preparations. North, Metro and South areas have been assigned their own presentations, and practices are well underway.

The Friday mass will be presided by our former SFCA member, Father Jason Yeap.

The Silver Jubilee of the Divine Mercy Sunday, will be celebrated by the Reverend Archbishop of Perth, Timothy Costelloe SDB. The same day also coincides with the beatification of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the Millennial Saint.

Overall, some may be sleep-deprived at the moment - but we will surely be all smiles come April 25th!

May we have a meaningful and spiritually-filled Holy Week prior to that.

1. For security purposes, kindly wear your IDs at all times. 

2. Child minders (SFCA/YFCA) will wear their official IDs and a wristband to identify them. Our KFCA coordinators have also prepared activities for them during the sessions.

4. Social Night - no pointed heels (or any footwear that can damage the floor) allowed on the stage and dance floor, please! Thank you!

5. The Annual General Meeting (open to all) on the 25th April from 1pm to 4pm; will be held at the St Lawrence and Mary Immaculate Church, 392 Albert Road, Balcatta, to accommodate more attendees. It is about a six (6) minute walk to the Sicilian Club.

6. There will be a small Tourist Info table, for those interested to explore Perth and its surroundings.
