2026 KFCA Camp (Victoria) By Marianna Winfield, Senior KFCA

From the 15th-16th of August, the Kids For Christ Australia (KFCA) members participated in a kids Camp led by the Family Ministry and Youth for Christ Australia (YFCA). The weekend trip was filled with exciting activities, engaging talks and of course, delicious food. As a senior KFCA member myself, I can confirm that this camp taught me many meaningful messages that I will carry with me through the rest of my life. So, let's dive in and explore all the fun we had on this trip.

Day 1 - 15th of August

The day started off with a praise and worship led by the YFCA. It was so fulfilling to see everyone participate in all the songs as we praised the Lord and glorified His name. Straight afterwards, we split up into two: Junior KFCA and Senior KFCA. Both groups attended different talks delivered by some of the Ates and Kuyas in YFCA. During the kids' talk, there was also a simultaneous session for the parents, covering similar topics. The first two talks were about God’s plan and responsibilities. Then the two groups met back together and participated in a parents and kids’ game that was very active and definitely let out our energy.

Next, after a quick lunch and rest, we all gathered again to take part in another praise and worship. Later, we split into the groups again and listened to two more talks led by other . YFCA members. Then the kids participated in a dance workshop where they learned choreography for the song ‘Beat It’ by Michael Jackson which was later performed in the talent show as well. Shortly after, we had a quick snack and played in one more kid and parent activity for the day. Once we filled our stomach with another delightful meal, we all headed down to the main hall for the talent show. Everyone was blown away after seeing all those performances. Each and every single performer was unique in their own special way. It was definitely the highlight of the night. We ended the day by roasting giant marshmallows and tasty sausages by the bonfire. The very eventful day left us all tired and worked up so we all hit the sack and rested for the next day.

Day 2 - 16th of August

The next morning, we all woke up Sunday morning, filled with energy. Some went for the early morning walk. We had brekkie, sang and danced to one more praise and worship before splitting up again for 1 more talk. Then after a quick reflection while eating some snacks, we gathered all together for mass. The choir performed beautifully while Father John led the Mass very reverently. Right after the celebration, we all got together for some picture taking. Once we finished, we ate a quick lunch before we headed home.

As a Senior KFCA member attending my last year at KFCA camp, I truly enjoyed this weekend. I still remember my first year of camp, I was just 5 years old. I made so many friends that continue to be with me to this very day. KFCA really brought me closer to God, and helped me discover many things about myself including my singing and dancing talents. I asked my dad what he thought of this weekend and in his words: “I found it insightful and fun. The talent show was a great way to showcase the many talents of the kids. The family games were also fun for all ages and the parent talks really gave us perspective and also highlighted that we are not alone in our parenting struggles.” As I enter into a new chapter as a YFCA next year, I will carry my memories, experiences and everything I've learned throughout my whole KFCA journey. I hope future KFCA kids will enjoy the same experience and activities that I had.
