The venue for the 2026 HOLD Conference is

The Conference Centre, Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston

Located at 29 Cameron St Launceston TAS 7250. Valid booking dates for the hotel accommodation are from Thursday, 30th April to Wednesday, 6th May, 2026.

Please note that the HOLD Leaders Forum will be on Friday, 1st May 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chancellor Ballroom. 

Accommodation room types and rates are as follows:

Superior King - 1 x King Bed - Room Only (up to 2 persons)               $150

Superior King - 1 x King Bed - Room & Breakfast  (1 person)              $180

Superior King - 1 x King Bed - Room & Breakfast  (2 persons)            $210

Superior Twin - 2 x Double Beds - Room Only (2 persons)                   $150

Superior Twin - 2 x Double Beds - Room & Breakfast (2 persons).      $210

Additional person $40 per person per night using existing bedding or $70 per person per night room & breakfast using existing bedding. (i.e. 4 people in a Twin room is $350 per night room & breakfast)

Rollaway bed $30 per bed per night. (Note that the hotel has only 8 rollaway beds available)

Booking Conditions for group bookings of 2 to 4 adults bed sharing:

Please make sure your check-in/check-out dates are all the same and please provide one credit card details for security purposes only. Full payment on arrival in cash or credit card. Please refer to conditions and cancellation policy.

Regarding transport, due to very limited TAS transport team, airport pickup/dropoff will be at Hotel Grand Chancellor only, the interstate delegates' home base. No transport team dropoff/pickup from airport to other hotels or Airbnb and on conference days as well. You may hire a car or taxi to take you to the city and Hotel Grand Chancellor. After attending the HOLD 2026 conference, join us on Monday, 4th May 2026 for the Handmaids On Tour 2026 to Stanley, one of Tasmania's prettiest towns. Please save the date and apply for your annual leave soon. See below for more details.

Assembly Time 7:30AM at Hotel Lobby for general instructions prior to departure time. Depart at 08:00AM travelling through Ashgrove Cheese Factory with a morning tea of hot chocolate at Anvers Chocolate Factory at own expense. Food sampling may be provided. You may buy to take home, if you wish. We drive-off to Stanley with Seafood Lunch or your preferred meal with dietary needs at Stanley Hotel Bistro at own expense. We drive around Stanley to see a remarkably preserved colonial houses, quaint streets and beautiful views make a perfect leisure seeker’s retreat. Plenty of peace and quiet. We then drive off to the scenic North West coast and stop at Turners Beach to breath some fresh air and walk to the beach leaving at 4:30pm to head back to arrive at hotel by 6:00pm traffic permitting.
