CFCA Theme for 2023

Picture
Scriptural Theme: (2 Timothy 4:1-5)
“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favourable or unfavourable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with utmost patience in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teaching to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths. As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.”

Slogan:
Walk Together with God!

Rationale:
As members of CFCA community, like Timothy, we are chosen, called and charged by our Lord God Jesus Christ to be his missionary disciples and we respond with a resounding “Yes!”, committing ourselves to living out our CFCA covenant, culture and charism.

Like Timothy, we are urged to proclaim God’s message; to be persistent, patient, and to persevere in carrying out our ministry “fully”. To do this, we need to work in harmony with one another as one body of Christ. We need to support and encourage one another as one family of God.

God knows that, at present, time is becoming more and more unfavourable to most of us. He knows and feels our struggles, our sufferings, our discouragements, our disappointments, our frustrations, and all our troubles. He knows how tired and overwhelmed we are. And he delights in the sight that, in the midst of all these, we find the strength and courage to continue our mission, and together we rejoice in the Lord always.

This year, our Lord God wants us to reflect on the “Why” of what we are doing. Why do we commit to our CFCA covenant? Why do we live our CFCA culture and charism? Why do we invite loved ones, relatives, friends and everyone to join our CFCA community? Why do we commit to service and leadership roles in our CFCA community?

Let us open our minds and hearts; let us listen to God, as he calls us anew, “Come! Walk together with me.”
